Welcome to ReadyBid. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ReadyBid, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree to any of these terms, you may not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

ReadyBid is a reverse marketplace platform where buyers post "WANTED" listings describing items or services they need, and sellers respond with offers. The platform operates on a privacy-first model where buyer contact information is only revealed after the platform fee is paid, processed securely by Stripe. ReadyBid connects buyers and sellers and is not a party to any transaction between them; buyers and sellers are responsible for agreeing on payment, inspection, collection, delivery, and any other terms of the sale.

3. User Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use ReadyBid.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
  • You may not create multiple accounts. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or a ban.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Buyer Responsibilities

As a buyer on ReadyBid, you agree to:

  • Provide honest and accurate descriptions in your WANTED listings.
  • Set realistic budget ranges that reflect fair market value.
  • Respond to seller offers in a timely manner.
  • Pay the platform fee promptly after accepting an offer, and arrange payment for the item or service directly with the seller.
  • Exercise due diligence before making full payment — where possible, inspect the goods, verify their condition, and satisfy yourself that the transaction meets your expectations before paying.
  • Not attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid fees.
  • Communicate respectfully with sellers through the platform.

5. Seller Responsibilities

As a seller on ReadyBid, you agree to:

  • Submit honest offers that you can fulfill.
  • Deliver items or services as described in your offer.
  • Maintain professional communication with buyers.
  • Meet agreed-upon delivery deadlines.
  • Agree payment terms directly with the buyer and complete the transaction as agreed.
  • Not misrepresent the quality, condition, or availability of items or services.

6. Payments & Fees

  • ReadyBid charges a platform fee, processed securely through Stripe, when a buyer accepts an offer. The fee is shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Paying the platform fee unlocks the seller's contact details so both parties can complete the deal directly.
  • Payment for the item or service is arranged directly between the buyer and the seller; ReadyBid is not a party to that payment.
  • The platform fee is non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable New Zealand law. See our Refund Policy for details.
  • ReadyBid reserves the right to review, change, introduce, or remove platform fees at any time without prior notice. Any revised fee will apply to new transactions and, where applicable, will be displayed to you before payment is required.
  • All prices are displayed in the currency specified at the time of listing.
  • You may not use ReadyBid to connect with a seller and then act to avoid the platform fee for that connection.

7. Disputes & Refunds

  • ReadyBid connects buyers and sellers and is not a party to the transaction. Buyers and sellers are responsible for resolving any dispute about the item, service, payment, inspection, collection, or delivery between themselves.
  • You can report a user or issue to ReadyBid, and our team may help facilitate communication, but ReadyBid does not adjudicate the underlying transaction or its payment.
  • The platform fee is non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable New Zealand law.

8. Privacy & Data Protection

  • ReadyBid operates on a privacy-first model.
  • Buyer personal information (name, email, phone, address) is only revealed to the seller after payment is confirmed.
  • Public profiles show only: username, city/state, avatar, ratings, and account age.
  • All contact information access is logged and auditable.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use ReadyBid to:

  • Engage in fraud, deception, or misrepresentation.
  • List, sell, or purchase illegal items or services.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Manipulate reviews, ratings, or search results.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or abuse promotions.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the platform without authorization.
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform to conduct off-platform transactions.
  • Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code.

10. Intellectual Property

  • ReadyBid and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ReadyBid and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
  • Users retain ownership of content they create (listings, messages, reviews) but grant ReadyBid a non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute this content on the platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • ReadyBid is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • ReadyBid does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items or services listed on the platform.
  • ReadyBid's liability is limited to the amount of platform fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding any claim.
  • ReadyBid is not responsible for the quality, condition, delivery, payment, or performance of items or services, or for disputes between buyers and sellers.

12. Account Termination

  • ReadyBid reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • Users may delete their account at any time through account settings.
  • Pending transactions at the time of termination will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to termination.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the platform. Continued use of ReadyBid after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of ReadyBid shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
